FINE ARTS EXPERIENCE

My family roots are from West Virginia,( Pendleton County) but I was raised all over the US and a little of Europe (My father was in the Army) before coming back to this state to settle. I have been producing and teaching art as long as I can remember and I am third generation artist on my mother’s side. I was educated as a printmaker with a minor in sculpture at the Memphis School of Art. My skills in the fine arts cover a wide variety of media and experience. I developed skills in drawing, life drawing, experimental drawing, oil painting, acrylic painting, watercolor, airbrush, sculpture, photography, woodworking, stain glass and mixed media which have come to be used in the present work with a collaborator in producing unique one of kind sculptural and furniture work. I have taught both children and adult classes in drawing, life drawing, watercolor, sculpture, and media (this includes most painting media and materials and how to use them).

About 18 years ago Chris Dutch a stain glass artist and I developed a collaborative effort to create art. Both of us having an interest in furniture art in wood and metal and began to build projects together and have formed a partnership which is still going to this date. We have develope knowledge on materials and skills with hand and powertools to produce works of art.

Other areas of interest are field of art photography, history, restoration of art and film which has my involvement in the West Virginia International Film Festival.
